Always beginning on the last Sunday in January, this year's National Catholic Schools Week is January 29-February 4, 2017. National Catholic Schools Week is the annual celebration of Catholic education in the United States.
This year’s theme is “Catholic Schools: Communities of Faith, Knowledge and Service.”
Christ the King School students will start the week with a Student-led Mass at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday. The celebration will continue with an Anti-bullying Assembly on Tuesday, an Awards Assembly on Thursday, and an All-Schools Mass on Friday. This year, Christ the King students will host the Mass at Tri-Cities Prep. Other activities throughout the week will include writing letters and cards to retired nuns and priests and participating in a door decorating contest to depict this year’s theme. Through these events, we focus on the value Catholic education provides to young people and its contributions to our church, our communities and our nation.
