Christ the King School has a long history of being ahead of the curve when it comes to science education. For over 50 years, CK teachers have been the recipients of grants specifically geared toward science education.  Today, teachers from grades 1 through 8, are actively involved in the STEM Collaborative and the LASER Alliance Cooperative , both of which are dedicated to providing effective science education. Science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) are enhanced through teachers’  participation in leadership and assistance for science education reform (LASER).  The LASER model of reform explores the six elements that sustain an effective, researched-based science program:

  • Research based instructional materials
  • Professional development
  • Student and program assessment
  • Materials support
  • Administrative and community support
  • Literacy (added by WA. state)
